Its adventure racing team again, and this time, Nomad Adventure's Eco X-Series takes us to the sleepy area of Ulu Langat, Selangor. This area just lies off Cheras, and is scene to the beautiful Lepok Waterfalls, where our marshalling gig takes place. For more information about waterfalls in Malaysia, visit Khong Tuck Khoon's site, Waterfalls in Peninsular Malaysia. Although somewhat dated and brief, this site is the most informative I have found. If someone does know a better site, please e-mail us at adventure-x-change.
Nomad's Eco X-Series is a series of races that takes place throughout the year and at exciting different locations. Of course, the difficulty depends on the devious brain waves at the given space in time of race director and chief honcho of Nomad Adventures, Chan Yuen Li.
Apart from racing in the series, marshalling in such a race allows you meet the many varied characters that take part in such races. Although in the race per se, making conversation would be hard. Normally, just lots of encouragement and making sure they don't severely damage themselves. Mind you, this is exactly the sport that one's parents warn against. However in during the pre-race competitor skills testing, there is enough time for you to talk and get to know characters from around the world. To top it off, splendid locations, waterfalls, cliff faces, and bugs galore greet the enthusiastic marshals. For more information about the Eco X-Series and or marshalling in such an event, why not go to Nomad Adventure's site.
