From the days I lived in the United States, the Sierra Nevada mountain ranges were my favorite hiking and camping grounds for a good part of the decade.
Bordering both California and the states of Nevada, the mountains and the adjoining alpine lakes are nothing short of beauty and serenity. For many who enjoyed the raw beauty of Ansel Adams photos, you would know what I mean.
Granite Lake is located in an area called Mokelumne Wilderness, and a part of the El Dorado Forest. We camped by the lake for a few days with day hikes around the lower meadows, accompanied by no less than our 2 furry companions.
